In a plan led system, allocation of a site for development in the local development plan is often the first step in securing planning consent, and the wording of the relevant development plan policies is the key starting point in determining whether a proposed development is acceptable.
There are a number of opportunities to promote sites for inclusion in a local development plan, or to promote changes to policy wording, and we are able to advise on how best to engage with the planning system in this respect. This includes engaging with the preparation of local place plans, or other community plans, and also council planning advice or guidance, although they may not be part of the statutory development plan. In all cases, we can submit representations on your behalf in respect of any sites or policies that may affect your interests, ensuring these are couched in appropriate planning terms.
