This time of year always invites reflection on what has come before and what might come next, and this year we are feeling that more than most as, from the end of the year, we will no longer be taking on any new planning instructions. Since founding Aurora Planning in 2017, we have had the privilege of working on many rewarding projects, from garden fences and dormer windows though to spaceports, and everything in between, with one particular high being winning the UK’s best small planning consultancy in 2021.

However, as the saying goes, life is about the journey and not the destination, and the time has come for us to take different paths; for Maggie, this means paring back her work commitments to join her partner in enjoying retired life, while Pippa is moving into the public sector to continue her career as a planner there.

So, in lieu of our usual bulletin this month, we want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has worked with us and supported us over the years – we are very grateful to you all, and hope that many of our paths will continue to cross in future.

And of course, we would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas, and a very happy new year when it comes!

Meantime, our archive of past blogs will remain online for a while at least, including festive favourites such as Deck the Halls and The ghosts of planning – past, present and future, if anyone is looking for some planning related holiday reading material…

Thanks for reading!
