We are delighted to have been named Small Planning Consultancy of the year at this year’s RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence, the ceremony for which took place online last night. In a great example of adapting to current coronavirus restrictions, the online format provided a showcase of inspiring finalists from across the United Kingdom, with opportunities to network with other attendees as well as hearing the winners announced.
The RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence are the most established and respected awards in the UK planning industry. Running for over 40 years, they celebrate exceptional examples of planning and the contribution planners make to society.
In announcing the winners it was said that: Aurora Planning stood out to the judges due to their impressive and inspiring scope of work completed by a team of two within only three years of business. They have provided innovative solutions to unique projects, which has resulted in fantastic client feedback, and the judges liked their multi-disciplinary approach. The judges felt the team brought something different to the table and were blown away by their pro bono work in order to support local groups and the community. Aurora Planning epitomise who a small planning consultancy should be, balancing commercial success with social responsibility
RTPI President Wei Yang FRTPI said: “I would like to congratulate all of the winners at this year’s RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence who have demonstrated how planning is an essential public service for our community. The winners have acted beyond boundaries to make positive and impactful changes - a perfect way of showing the world the positive role planners play in our society".
Dyan Currie HonMRTPI, Chief Planner of Brisbane City Council and Chair of the judging panel, said: “With the world facing significant complex challenges, planning has become more important than ever before. The quality of entries in this year’s Awards was outstanding and the judges remain confident of the future of the profession during these challenging times.”
We are genuinely honoured to receive this recognition from our peers at a UK level, in particular the work we do in supporting local charities, and we hope to continue to build on this success in the future.
